Hi, I’m Kieran from the Accessibility Services team. I am a senior technical analyst within the team and I’m here to describe and explain the Accessibility Snapshot.
So, the snapshots are great tools for companies to get free samples of the services we provide at Accessibility Services. Within the snapshot we’ll display a screenshot of your site along with the details below of the test. These details include the amount of pages scanned and the amount of those scanned pages that contain issues.
We will also then go through the impact legalities around the Accessibility Act and the Equality Act and why you should be accessible.
On the right-hand side of the screen is the ‘Take Action Now’ section where you can find further information and get further correspondence from us.
The snapshots are like I said bite-sized reports and small versions of our main reports that you can request for free. And within these snapshots we usually report on three different issues on your site that are quite surface level that you can then go and check for yourself.
So, this is a Shaw Trust training module snapshot where we’ve reported three issues here that Shaw Trust can then go and check themselves.
Snapshots are a fantastic way of getting a very, very small insight to your site’s accessibility issues, and then follow up further if you deem that needing improvement really.
It’s worth noting that the reported issues are like I said quite surface level, but importantly it’s a small, small fraction of the flagged-up issues. It’s highly recommended to follow through in order to progress your website’s journey to accessibility. It’s also worth noting that the snapshots will be compiled by our tech team with a quick turnaround usually.
